The gas which develops inside them is called graphite or amorphous silicon. These Lithium-Cells are mainly used in the applications where high current capacity is required. Another important feature of the Lithium battery is its reversibility. The lithium metal batteries have the ability to be reversed from their anode to the cathode in case of an electrical fault. This gives you a lot of time to catch up with your work and stop worrying about the pending situation.

The most common cathode materials used with the lithium cells are Lead anodes and the Hcl electrolytes. The Lead anodes give the Lithium ions an extra backing which in turn raises the voltage of the cell. The cathode material in the case of Hcl gives the Lithium ions a better internal structure which in turn increases the voltage of the cell. In the final analysis, it all depends on the power produced by the battery and not on the Lithium cell's external characteristics.

The advantages of the Lithium battery are plenty. It is the best power source that does not consume a lot of energy and is reliable. It has the capability to give high voltages and gives out long service life. The other advantages are its portability and its adaptability to different devices. It can be used in all sorts of electronic equipments and thus makes it one of the highly used and available energy cells. The cylindrical cells use special materials to make them and they are often referred to as the power cells.
